Why should I sign up?

Signing up to SpeakActChange allows you to join an online hub of SRHR advocates from Eastern Europe and Central Asia,essay writing for pay and beyond. Once you are a registered user, you will be able to connect with other SRHR advocates by adding them as friends and thus increasing your network and enhancing opportunity for partnership and solidarity.

We believe that collaboration and solidarity with other advocates is essential to present a united front to the many obstacles preventing people from accessing their sexual and reproductive health and rights, today.

As a registered user, you will also be able to post your own articles on your experiences as an advocate for SRHR, and you will have the capacity to comment on other people’s articles too. You will also have the opportunity to engage in debates on important SRHR issues under the ‘Engage!’ tab, and you will be given access to the Calendar, where you may find out about upcoming campaigns and advocacy events.  

All registered users will also be able to add their own resources under the ‘Resources’ tab, and will be able to initiate debates on relevant topics under the ‘Discuss!’ section.

How do I sign up?

To become a registered user, click ‘Log In’ from the drop down menu on the main toolbar. If you will press the Register Now button, a registration form will open, requesting a valid and unique email, a unique username, a first name, a last name, a password and password confirmation (required), your’s slader math current country of residence (required),  age (not required), a photo to be uploaded or linked from another website (not required) and your’s short biography.  There, you will be able to create an account using your email address or by linking up with your other social media such as Facebook, Instagram or Vkontakte.  Once the data is submitted, the Platform will send a confirmation link to the entered email address and the profile shall be activated once the link is opened.

How do I add an article?

Once you have created an account, you can click on the ‘Our Voices’ tab, where you will find a button that says ‘Add Article’. Click on this button and begin to publish your article!

You should add the text part of your article into the main body of the page, and the title of your piece into the small, blank bar at the top ‘Enter title here.’ Your article can be on anything that is related to youth empowerment, advocacy, SRHR, peacebuilding and gender equality.

You can add images by clicking the ‘Set Featured Image’ buttons found on the bottom right of the page, and the ‘Header Image’ will be the image that is seen on the site before people click into your article.

You can also format the text of your article using the formatting toolbar at the top of the page. This will allow you to change the font size (using the drop down menu from the box entitled ‘paragraph’) and to put words in bold or italics, or to align your text.

You should choose the ‘Personal Stories’ category for your article before publishing, and you can add keywords from your article as tags under the ‘Tags’ button.

Finally, you can press ‘preview’ (top left) to see how your article looks before publishing and then, once you are happy with it, go ahead and publish!

Exporting the calendar?

You can export the SpeakActChange calendar into your regular Google or iCalendar, so that you will be reminded of upcoming events that you might wish to participate in! All you have to do is click ‘Export’ at the bottom of the ‘Calendar’ page.

How do I create a new topic in the forum?

You can initiate your own debate my clicking ‘Discuss!’ and then ‘General’. This will lead you to a page where you can add the title (the question of your debate topic) and your comment beneath. You then just have to press ‘Submit’ and the topic will be available for discussion to all other registered users.

Your topics can be on anything that is related to youth empowerment, advocacy, SRHR, peacebuilding and gender equality.

How do I add a resource?

Click on the ‘Resources’ tab and click ‘Add Resource’. You can add resources on anything related to youth empowerment, advocacy, SRHR, peacebuilding and gender equality.

How do I add other advocates?

Go into the ‘Advocates’ tab and click onto the profile of the person who you wish to add. On the righthand side of their profile you will be able to click ‘Add Friend’ or to message them directly if you wish.

Format your profile

Once you are logged in, you will be able to add a profile picture and cover photo to your account by clicking on ‘Update Image.’ You will be able to change and add new information in your description as well. 

About the menu sections

HomeThe home page is to facilitate navigation to other pages. You will see the most recent articles, upcoming events, most recent resources and latest news. The search box on the homepage will allow you entire key words for what you are looking for.

About – This is the section with the information and purpose of the platform. It will help you learn about partners and will allow you visit their websites. In this section you will find the answer to all your questions about registration and contribution to the site. Only the registered users may contribute to the platform.

Resources – This section will allow you to contribute to the platform. You can upload manuals, guidelines, online courses and informative videos for youth and, at the same time, you can use and download other resources from other users/advocates contributions.

News – In this section you will gain information about previous events and news about SRHR, youth empowerment and peacebuilding.  And you will be able to share the post on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin and vKontakte through share buttons. As a registered user, you will be able to leave comments under the news as well.

Our Voices – This section provides space for your voices. You can upload your articles and personal stories in this section. Your articles will be read by the platform users.  At the same time, you will find important information about SRHR and gender equality from advocates all over the world.

Opportunity – In this section you could add or see advocacy opportunities that you may invite other advocates or might engage with – events, campaigns, actions. In the event subsection you can add events on the calendar. In the engage subsection you can also submit an advocacy opportunity and invite young people to join your campaign or action.

Discuss – In this section is a form where you can find or initiate interesting topics, which need wide discussion. You can participate in the discussion and can invite your friends to join. You could share the topics among your networks. You can see attitude of youth about related topics.

Advocates – In this section you will meet youth advocates all over the Globe. You will see the world map with all countries here. When you click on the map, you will be able to see the advocates and registered users from each country.  Then you can check their profile, receive more information about them and read their articles.

My Profile – If you want to contribute to the platform, firstly you need to register by filling in the registration form. You can add information and a description about yourself. If you already logged in, you can enter the platform as a user. Then you can add articles, resources and comments under the news.
